Taking the final championship class at the newly scheduled Livestock Event 2013 was the Ayrshire breed collecting the Bledisloe Perpetual Trophy for the Interbreed Group of Four animals just two points ahead of the Jerseys.
After much scrutiny – during which John Gribbon as one of the panel of breed judges adjudicating asked for the teams to shift from side-by-side to single file – the scores were Ayrshires 48/50, Jerseys 46/50, Holstein 44/50, Brown Swiss 38/50, Guernsey 33/50 and British Friesian 31/50.
